Mini Box Corer

A simple and reliable mini box corer for collecting sediment from an area of 0.05m², with minimal disturbance and sample contamination. If you need a lightweight box corer that you can deploy from small boats in inshore environments, this aluminium and stainless steel unit is hard to beat.

Box corers collect a block of sediment – from lake floors or seabeds – and are widely used for sampling in biological, chemical, environmental and geochemical applications.

We also have large box corers for sampling areas of 0.25m² available for hire.

Features

This rugged, mini box box corer is easy to use and deploy, and can be fitted with weights to facilitate the sampling of a range of sediment types. After sediment penetration, the box is closed, top and bottom, by two shovels mounted on pivot arms. This double shovel design allows easy access to the sediment for scientific analysis.
